The Hankamer School of Business offers two main types of scholarships for students admitted to the program, either after completing a minimum of 60 hours or as part of the Business Fellows or Business (Hankamer) programs.
Merit-Based Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded primarily based on academic achievements or other leadership criteria.
Need-Based Scholarships
These scholarships are based on documented financial need, determined through the CSS Profile and/or FAFSA. To be considered for any need-based scholarships, you must submit the FAFSA. Students who began their studies at Baylor before summer 2019 are not required to submit the CSS Profile but must still submit the FAFSA to be eligible for need-based scholarships.
For the 2024-25 academic year, students applying for business school scholarships must follow these steps:
Apply through Scholarship Universe:
Use the menu on the left to select the “Applications” tab, then choose the HSB 2024-2025 General Scholarship Application. If your major is specific to a department, also complete that departmental application.
Merit-Based Scholarships:
For merit-based scholarships, be sure to complete the relevant link.
Need-Based Scholarships:
No additional application is required for need-based scholarships, but make sure your FAFSA and/or CSS Profile are submitted.
Deadline for Hankamer School of Business Scholarship Applications:
All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 1. The HSB Scholarship Committee will review applications and forward recommendations to the Student Financial Aid Office for final assignment. Award notifications will be sent by Financial Aid in June for the upcoming academic year.

Finance Scholarships:
Jesse A. Derrick Scholarship:
Must major in Risk Management & Insurance. Selection based on academic merit, service, and need.
Bobby R. Simpson Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a 3.0 GPA. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
James E. Pullen Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Selection based on academic merit, service, and need.
Franklin George Gabriel Scholarship:
Must be a full-time Finance major with a demonstrated interest in real estate. Selection based on academic merit, service, and need.
Chris & Julianna LeBlanc Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Grady Langford, Jr. Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a banking emphasis. Applicants must be a Junior or Senior with a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Requires professor recommendation regarding work ethic and prior employment. Preference given to Central Texas High School graduates.
Anna T. Reiman Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
Jeffrey & Lauren Read Scholarship:
Must be a junior or senior Finance major with a demonstrated interest in real estate. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Banking Advisory Council Scholarship:
Must be a junior Finance major with a demonstrated interest in banking and completion of FIN 3310. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and a Finance GPA of 3.2.
Phillips 66 Scholarship:
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Special consideration for first-generation and/or underrepresented candidates.
Bank of America Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a GPA of at least 3.0 and pursuing a career in banking.
Hart Nance Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need. Preference for students interested in a career in banking.
James & Debra Standford Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Walter & Nora Holcombe Scholarship:
Must be a senior Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Montgomery Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a GPA of at least 3.8. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Alfred & Ruth Evans Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need. Preference for students with a parent employed as a public school teacher and/or from Frio, Cameron, or Guadalupe County.
Jeff & Judy Schmeltekopf Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need. Preference for students interested in Financial Planning.
Philip & Lisa Green Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Jack Rieman Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Hodge Family Business Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a GPA of at least 3.50. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Michael Wood Scholarship in Finance & Accounting:
Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need. Preference for students pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting and a career in banking.
Alvarez Family Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Weber Family Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
Eric Emerson Scholarship:
Must be a Finance major with a demonstrated interest in real estate. Awarded based on academic merit, service, and need.
